Your Life & Career - Invitation to Reflect

Journey of our thoughts …Do you wish to join Two Friends....Welcome to Our World

Welcome to the Journey of two friends and their experience of life and career.
To pen your thoughts and the feelings behind it is a journey no one wants to miss and Iam no different. I never took this up seriously as I always had this doubt will I ever continue coming up with such original conversations on topics concerning our careers and our future. Without wasting a single minute we had started this journey of putting these thoughts on paper to communicate our ideas to help the community. Yes it is huge task we have taken upon ourselves for which your support is needed to make this movement like any Social Media has done to Virtual Networking. We are not scientists who are going to put forward our formulas, theories etc  which will go above your head. Our idea is to put your head to good use as it exists. Nothing Great ! Nothing Earth Shattering ! Here we will put forward our experiences which you can chew, digest and yes go & implement straight away in your work area. You might be wondering is it such a simple thing or can it be so simple…Let’s begin this journey of sharing our experiences and this should bring solace to so many professionals like any Best Friend / Partner do in times of need. This is what we all do when we go through our ups / downs in our career.

Moving on what is that Big Thing in future we need in our career for our success …Expertise in a field of your choice is one point we all agree to a large extent puts us in comfortable situation. I hope we do not want ourselves to be like Jack of all Master of none. We are afraid that Jack will remain alone in future with no substantial work.  So go ahead and put your head on one skill which is of interest and will fetch you success in future. The Other day I had been to birthday party of my friend and yes had a wonderful time for I was meeting him after 10 years for second time in less than a week. Virtual Communication yes kept me posted on his updates on FB but nothing beats face-to-face communication. We all want such communications to keep on recurring but for that to happen we have to tune ourselves & shift our thought away from animal which used to be social to that of Social Animal.  We have come to be recognized for those social skills but due to the commercial outlook we have run towards virtual. One day this virtual business will kill our relations and we have no one else to blame except ourselves. At this Birthday Party one magician caught our attention. Here was a man who was making his living out by displaying his magician skills and he was applauded for all the tricks he has shown from all cross-sections of the audience cutting across age-groups.  According to us the game-changer of future is this point of harnessing one skill till you master it.

Like we said communication of your problems / sharing of the same with your near and dear ones not only will relieve of your stress but also allows you to come out with new perspectives. Yes we need someone to lean upon during such times. You might be wondering I need help from some trainer to help me out of this stress and we do not end that search. Unfortunately we have seen very often that we under estimate our near and dear ones to help us out of this thinking that they have not worked in such environments and hence cannot take us out of the problems / guide us properly. For example, if a Movie Director thinks that since the audience may not understand will he / she stop directing the actors in the movie or will the Producer stop producing since his earlier movie was a flop. In such instances we see Director / Producer dish out their movies in front of the audience every time with same amount of fanfare. They do not under estimate either the audience or the actors. The point we are making here that we have to show our dreams / our careers movies to our near and dear ones in the language they understand and take their help without any hesitation & without waiting for such help from others unendingly…. Take charge of your career and it is you who can make that difference in any forum wherein you want your identity to get highlighted.

Are you ready to take charge of your career? Are you willing to trust your near and dear ones in taking the help for your career? Plan your future and enjoy your present. Live life like there is no tomorrow. Being happy does not cost you anything. Just being with my friend Bhavani is reason enough for me to be happy. Sometimes being alone brings you happiness, for it connects you with your thoughts. Creative people need space to fill them with thoughts. Or on days when your stomach yearns for a tasty food, you just go out and do have it. So here I see the connect not that you did not : stomach needs food to survive and mind needs thoughts to thrive, sharpen. Mind and body need your attention. Do not leave it to chance for their upkeep. Work on it. God has brought you on a tour to Mother Earth and we see every reason for it to succeed if you put your heart and soul into it.

Come join us in our journey to bring forth such thoughts that have impressed you already or those ones that forced you to re-write history. We invite you to put your thoughts forward and undertake your tour.
Wish us Best of luck on our journey and yours too!! Raghu & Bhavani

Difference between Successful and Unsuccessful Person

There is no universally accepted definition for describing a successful or an unsuccessful person. Because there are two angles of analysis 1) self-analysis and 2) analysis by others. Also, success or failure is never permanent (in fact nothing is) it changes from time to time as needs change.

So, success or failure is always need-dependent. Control the needs to control success or failure. (See Maslow’s Hierarchy Model).

But there is saying “Necessity is mother of all Invention or Discovery” and practically this was proved many times since ages. Just think of the world today with that of 1000 years back. Also, just imagine how the world would be in 3000 A.D.

The best product made by GOD in this world is the Human Mind.

Because when I compare Human Body and its capabilities with that of the Plant and Animal world I find that the power of Human Mind is unlimited but at the same time most vulnerable to distraction.

There are so many animals in the animal kingdom with extra-ordinary capabilities likewise in the Plant kingdom. However, there are certain limitations to both animal and plant species.

Human being is the only species that has evolved since ages and has been trying to take control of all other kingdoms in the world surprisingly started to look beyond space.

Why only Human beings are able to do this why not other species is a billion dollar question?
If we closely look at the life of all the so called successful people around us and try to understand the challenges they all have experienced before calling themselves successful we find some interesting points –
1.      Clarity on what they want; (AIM/DREAM/IMAGINATION)

2.      Experimenting all the ways and means to fulfill the need; (EFFORTS/FAILURES/LEARNING)

3.      Highly self-motivating after each failure; (ATTITUDE)

4.      Sacrificing other needs; (PRIORITISING)

5.      Continuing to experiment till they achieve; (PATIENCE)

6.      Enjoying the positive results; (SELF/SHARE)

NOW U DECIDE ARE U A SUCCESSFUL PERSON OR NOT

We have studied or seen or are even seeing so many people who belong to this category “successful”.
Let us look at some of the successful people (accepted and admired by me)

SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE WHO ARE ALIVE

Difference between knowledge and wisodm......

There are many definitions of what is knowledge and what is wisdom, for example -

That which we have learned by observation , experience or learning is called knowledge.

How we apply that knowledge, or how we use it for self-benefit or for benefit of others is called wisdom.

But according to me -

Knowledge = what, where, who, why, when, how

Wisdom = What I believe or not believe................

Learning at Home   vs Institutions;
Every individual starts learning at home and later joins academic institutions for further learning.

Over the past thirty years the no. of women living as house wives decreased across India as they have taken up employment in various sectors.

Thanks to the education system and employment system in India. Also, a million thanks to parents who encouraged girl child education.

Practically, a child learns faster at home (apart from Institution) under the guidance of an educated mother compared to an uneducated mother. This we have seen around us already.

But what is disturbing are the dramatic changes in a child’s learning opportunities at home and at academic institutions.
Dramatic Changes:
·     India has the highest number of academic institutions in the world today but produces less no. of Ph.Ds.
·      Working parents are finding it difficult in spending time teaching their children at home after work hours due to various reasons.
·     Also, a child is spending more time in extra school-based study hours or taking tuitions instead of spending time with parents.
·     On top of it parents and teachers put more pressure on the child to deliver good results in exams rather than encouraging them to play after school hours.
·   This method of learning has become a routine thing for the child due to which the bondage between the child and parents has become a weak link in today’s society.
·     Today, we see students carrying loads of books on their shoulders all the way to school and back home (this need to be changed immediately).
     Many parents are struggling day-n-night and running from pillar-to-post to pay the ever increasing cost of educating their children (i wonder why parents are not questioning the government just like how they react when petrol/LPG price goes up?)
·   Today, we see many parents pressurizing students spend more time at school and at home studying thereby ignoring playing. This is one major reason I think why we see poor success by Indian sports teams in national and inter-national sports events.
·     Majority of schools are over-loaded with students with poor teacher-students ratio resulting in crowded classrooms, unhygienic environments.
·     The no. of students committing suicides have gone up due to various reasons (especially pressure, ragging and corporal punishments).

One Million People Commit Suicide Each Year - World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th

      More suicides occur between 18yrs and 45yrs of age - in other words in the most productive age group of our society. (refer to www.aasra.info)

- Every 3 seconds a person attempts to die.
- Suicide is one of the top three causes of death among the young in the age group of 15-35 years
- The psychological, social and financial impact of suicide on the family and the society is immeasurable.
- About 1 lakh people die by suicide in India every year.
- 3 people in a day in Mumbai commit suicide.
- 2 in a week in Navi Mumbai commit suicide.
- Each suicide leaves at least 6 people devastated.6 lakhs people become survivors every year in India.

·   Majority of schools do not have play grounds (that’s why galli games have become popular in India)
·     Majority of sports training campuses are poorly equipped.
·      Majority of public and students feel that the academic course curriculums are still out-dated.
·     Caste and religious discriminations still prevail in majority of academic institutions.
·   Sanskrit (our ancient and most sophisticated language in the world) has lost its value amongst Indians. (Surprisingly, foreign nationals are learning Sanskrit)
·    Academic institutions and students across India are being misused by corrupt politicians/parties rather than encouraging them to lead the nation.
 Please join me to change the present scenario and create a nation where learning is –
·         Free from unnecessary performance pressure;
·         Free from dirty politics;
·         Free from corruption;
·         Free from caste and religion;
·         Free from unhealthy practices;

Please comment on this topic...................
Family and Values:

The basic foundation for any individual is family. Everything starts with it and ends with it (more so in India).

India is known as the mecca of family culture and values. Thanks to its historic culture and family oriented values (despite the vast differences) that have been driving the nation to what it stands today - a free independent India.

But as time goes by we have seen some dramatic changes in this status since 1980s. There are many factors that have brought the dramatic changes but according to me the top three are 1. Caste & Religion differences 2. Western Cultural Influence through media channels 3. Higher Education and Employment Opportunities.

Today, Indian culture has lost its once strongly held status "mecca of family culture and values" especially because of the above three factors according to me.

Dramatic Changes:

Increase in no.of people getting converted to Christianity/Muslim;

Increase in no.of people filing for divorce (due to various reasons);

Increase in polygamy (both male and female);

Increase in no. of people living together without marriage;

Increase in no. of abortions;

Increase in no.of suicides, rape cases, dowry death cases;;

Increase in no. of female infanticide deaths;

Increase in no. of  nuclear families;

Increase in the no. of cross-gender operations;

Increase in the number of gays and lesbians;

Increase in the no. of senior family members being abandoned;

Decreasing interest in combined family model;

Decreasing interest in celebrating festivals (due to various reasons);

I request all the readers to reverse these changes and make a better place to live as a family..........Please comment on this topic.
